In order to use your Canon digital camera, you need to have the correct Canon camera battery. The battery comes along with the digital camera, when you purchase it, but often times you want an additional battery. This way, should the battery ever die on you while you are in the middle of a shoot, you are always able to continue on, with the spare battery. This way, when the battery no longer has any power, you just eject it from the camera, slide it into the charger, and plug the charger into a power outlet.
