Fitness and Wellness

Today more than ever, fitness and wellness are becoming more and more important. The “boomers” as well as the obesity reports have brought fitness and wellness to the forefront of living a longer and healthier life.

Not all of us can be able go to a gym and get the beach body of Charle Atlas or Hulk Hogan but we can all exercise and eat properly whether it be in our living room, church, or inside the mall.

The biggest obstacle in exercising and eating properly is simply committing to the program and staying with it. None of us, regardless of age should start an extreme body workout or the heavy weight lifting, but rather we should start simple, such as walking forty-five minutes a day, lifting very light weights using our arms, and simple set-ups and leg lifts.

It is very simple to Google exercise programs and select the ones that seem to fit the age, difficulty, and results we are all looking for. Regardless of the program selected there should be at least a 30 day review but no more than 90 day review to measure the improvement in weight, stamina, and strength of your personal program.

Maintaining Fitness and Wellness During the Holidays

Winter is the worst season to keep up fitness and wellness. During these months the weather changes dramatically. The weather changes from warm and vibrant to cold and wet. This kind of weather promotes sickness that is why it is important to stay ahead of the game. Winter can best be described as dark and dismal. During this time depression and feeling tired is normal, so weight gain and falling into old eating habits is inevitable. In order to get past these hard months you must have the right combination of planning and determination. With the right mindset you will be able to healthy during winter.

During the cold winter months your diet is vital to how healthy you will stay. The reason your diet is most important in the cold is because you get less sunlight so you don’t get the vitamins you would normally get. Fruits, vegetables, lean meat, food high in Calcium, and whole grain are the best to eat. Be careful about eating foods containing sugar during this season. In fact, you should try to avoid sugar at all costs. It may seem hard to eat healthy this time of year because all you want are warm meals. Just remember, it is possible to have a warm meal while still getting the vitamins and minerals your body needs.

Exercise is an activity that is important during these cold months. Exercising regularly is the best way to stay fit and healthy. Regular exercise will also solve the depression problem many face this time of year. Not only is exercise good for you, but it is also said to help regulate rational thought. When you exercise your brain pumps the substance Serotonin through your blood. Regulated Serotonin is the best way to stay happy during winter. Many find it hard to exercise because of the cold weather outside. The best way to exercise during winter is to do as much exercise around your house as you can, and to frequent your local Gym.

It is hard to stay fit and well during the holidays. If you are going to pick a season to treat your body right though winter is the perfect time of year. Regulated diet can also help. Dieta Mediterranea, Dieta Fricker, and Dieta Atkins are just a few.
